  • Partnership program with the U.S. SBA
  • Public/private partnership of federal government, state government, universities, and the private sector
  • Funding: $1.7 M in federal funds; requires 50/50 match of cash/in-kind. $550,000 state funds
  • 1985-First year of operation with four centers
  • 1988 -Network expanded to fourteen centers
  • 1991-$450,000 in state funding secured
  • 2003-Restructure of network, increased number of centers
  • State funding increased to $550,000
The Indiana SBDCS are:
  • Statewide in coverage with ten centers based in chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, universities and units of government
  • Comprehensive in scope of services provided
  • Available to all types of small businesses in all stages of development
  • Part of a national network of 1,000 centers
