Startup Weekend Northwest Indiana

Startup Weekend Northwest Indiana

“Want to start a business but not sure what?  Or how?”

“Are you a tech person and need to find a business partner?”

“Have a great idea but don’t know how to take the next step?”

Are any of these you?

If so, clear your calendar for April 25-27 and sign up for Northwest Indiana’s first Startup Weekend at Purdue University-Calumet in Hammond.

Startup Weekend is an international program of people who are passionate about creating businesses.  In less than 54 hours, you’ll join a team around an idea (your own or someone else’s) and work toward launch – learning and employing lean startup methodologies to help along the way.

Why come?

Build a team:  You won’t just exchange business cards with people, you’ll get to really know them by working together.  This is not your father’s networking event.  Unless you bring your father, which is actually a super idea.  Startup Weekend participants are in all stages of their careers, and some of the best ideas come from people who have a decade or three or four under their belts.

Learn how to do it:  Wouldn’t it be great if someone could figure out how to validate a business idea without having to create the business first?  Guess what?  Somebody has.  It’s called Lean Startup and it’s the methodology we use at Startup Weekend.  There’s no better way to learn something than to spend three days immersed in it.  Jump in, the water’s fine!

Start a business:  Many of the businesses launched at Startup Weekends continue after everyone goes home Sunday night.  Give yourself a chance to make something happen.

Quit dreaming and start doing!
