Starting from one of the founder’s garage, AndyMark is now one of the leading distributors and manufacturers of robotics parts within the robotics mobility and competition market. Formed in 2004, AndyMark aims to support and grow robotics education and innovative mechanical design for mobility applications. Company founders, engineers Andy Baker and Mark Koors, also volunteer with the Indiana FIRST Robotics Competition teams. This experience helped them to identify a niche market, which led them to begin designing and selling robotics components targeting the FIRST Robotics community.
They soon turned to the Hoosier Heartland SBDC to help them on their entrepreneurial journey. As tenants of Inventrek Technology Park in Kokomo, AndyMark utilized the free, expert advice on starting and operating a business that was offered by the Hoosier Heartland SBDC. In the fall of 2011, the company expanded out of Inventrek and again utilized the Hoosier Heartland SBDC to secure a commercial building on the north side of Kokomo, where they continued to grow and add employees. AndyMark now employs 26 full-time associates and hires part-time positions during the company’s peak season. After five years, the company needed to expand once again into an even larger building in Kokomo – which they celebrated its grand opening in 2018.
