The Firehouse BBQ and Blues owners Rick Bolen and Tom Broyles came to the East Central ISBDC for the first time on June 18, 2010 with a solid idea for bringing great food, good music, and a blues atmosphere to the up and coming Depot District of Richmond, Indiana.
The two professional firemen had the perfect location in mind – an old fire station that just needed their professional craftsmanship to bring its original architecture to life once again. With help from their Business Advisor, Peggy Cenova, they prepared a business plan and cash-flow projection to show that their idea was more than a dream. With these in hand they sought and received start-up funds, and were on their way to business ownership.
Rick says that when they opened their doors in January 2012, the adventure continued, and keeping up with demand has been one of their biggest challenges. To date, they have four full time and 32 part time employees.
The BBQ is great and the atmosphere is one of a kind. Indeed they have succeeded in providing “BBQ For The People.”
