Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann joined business leaders from across the state recently to present 20 companies with the Indiana Small Business Development Center’s Economic Development through Growth and Entrepreneurship (EDGE) Awards during a Statehouse ceremony.
Sponsored by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation’s Small Business Development Centers, the awards recognize clients of the agency’s 10 regional offices located throughout the state in two categories – emerging and established. Recipients are chosen by their regional centers.
The Hoosier Heartland ISBDC’s honoree in the Established Category was Chrisso Technologies. Chrisso, formed in 2010, provides hardware design and software enhancement for electrical design, digital signal processing, lab testing, field testing, and circuit board design. With Chrisso’s advanced software algorithms and performance enhancements, users are able to stay connected to existing services at longer distances and in more dynamic environments than previously thought possible.
Prior to opening, CEO Todd Brandenburg met with the Hoosier Heartland Indiana Small Business Development Center. The HHISBDC helped Chrisso organize and provided business acumen for the four partners, who all had engineering backgrounds. Under the mentorship of their business advisor, Monty Henderson, the company participated in the accelerated FastTrac TechVenture Program; a program that guides technical businesses through their start-up phase. In the last year they have seen a 20 percent increase in sales and had the opportunity to hire an additional contract employee.
“It is nice to have the HHISBDC services to call upon to support our business. Their tools, like Reference USA, allow us to easily gain access to information that we would otherwise have to research and pay for. The FastTrac TechVenture program was very valuable to our start-up process.”
