Crowley Engineering has evolved into a Midwest-based consulting firm since launching in 2003 from owner Greg Crowley’s home basement.
“We are a consulting engineering firm focusing on environmental management, environmental health and safety consulting and forensic engineering,” Crowley said. “Our clients run the spectrum of commercial and industrial facilities to municipal clients.”
With the motto of delivering sustainable engineering solutions, Crowley’s staff looks to address clients’ root problems. Projects range from environmental health and safety issues such as toxic mold and indoor air quality to finding cost savings for energy management concerns. While Crowley began as a manufacturer’s rep firm, he now has licenses in nine states and is working toward national and global ambitions.
Crowley was exposed to the SBDC through a small business finance seminar about five years ago. He connected with a business advisor for assistance with securing funding for project-based equipment needs.
“My business advisor helped me craft a plan and put together a road map to pursue funding strategies. I was successful at securing the funding I needed,” he said.
“The SBDC is a great advisor to work with throughout this journey. My advisor provides feedback and guidance regarding planning and strategies for the next step. It is easy to manage where you are now but in order to go to the next level of growth and staffing, it is good to have an outside advisor who can really help and see the steps needed to fulfill that vision.”
