INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 13, 2014) – Jacob Schpok, Executive Director of the Office of Small Business and Entrepreneurship, has named Jerry Hadley as the State Director of the Indiana Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTAC) program. In this role, he will help Indiana businesses market their products and services to the federal, state, and local governments. The PTAC program also provides marketing and technical assistance and workshop training opportunities to small disadvantaged businesses, women and minority-owned businesses, and service disabled veteran owned small businesses. The Office of Defense Development and the Indiana Aerospace and Defense Counsel serve as advisors to the PTAC program.
Schpok, noted, “Jerry Hadley is an outstanding addition to our team. As we look for ways to help Indiana businesses market their products and services to the federal, state and local governments, Jerry’s military experience and lifelong commitment for serving others will contribute to the success of this initiative and Indiana’s small businesses overall.”
Most recently, Jerry Hadley was the Operations and Training Officer in the Indiana National Guard. Previously, he commanded the 76th Infantry Brigade Combat Team and was deployed to Afghanistan as the Commander of Combined Team Uruzgan, a 4,500 person multinational command from March through December in 2012. He relinquished command of the 76th Brigade February 2012.
Hadley entered the military by joining the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) at Indiana University in 1983. In his first four years of his career in the active duty army, he was stationed at Fort Hood in Texas. After leaving the military in 1989, he began working for Michelin Tire Corporation as a production supervisor and later as an area industrial engineer.
Jerry Hadley was born and raised in Indiana and completed his Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Indiana University in 1985. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Indianapolis and a Masters of Strategic Studies from the Army War College in 2011.
Jerry and his wife Jenell have three children, Kayla, Maggie and Wesley.
Under the leadership of Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann, the Indiana Office of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (OSBE) oversees the Indiana Small Business Development Center (ISBDC), the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), and the Indiana Small Business Ombudsman.
