Equis Medical Consulting specializes in clinical device follow-up, promoting better clinical outcomes for patients and allowing medical offices to focus on outstanding personal care. The clinical staff at Equis remotely monitors loop recorders, LINQTM devices, pacemakers, and defibrillators. Bryan Conklin co-founded Equis Medical Consulting with his nephew David Zimmer following his mother’s frequent hospital trips related to issues with her heart. She would often self-medicate or not take her dietetics, leading to hospital stays. Bryan and David did extensive research via a Lean Sigma project with a university hospital and turned to Business Advisor Scott Underwood with the East Central Indiana Small Business Development Center.
Initially, the pair worked with Scott on a business plan to explore how to develop the business. As they continue to build the business, they now consult with Scott quarterly regarding marketing, banking, the use of social media or cash flow ideas. Equis uses tools from the Indiana Small Business Development Center to develop cash flow projections. As Equis Medical Consulting continues to grow, Bryan and David appreciate the human connection Scott provides, reminding them of their potential.
