Southwest ISBDC Helps Nurse Buy Clinic

In May 2016, Dr. Michelle Snyder paired up with nurse practitioner Wendy Williams to start an independent family clinic in Princeton. After forming the practice together, Williams decided to buy the business from her partner and take her career to the next level.

Buying the practice required that Williams secure a loan for her company. The Southwest Indiana Small Business Development Center helped her create a business plan that Williams showed to prospective lenders. Southwest ISBDC Advisor Doug Claybourn assisted Wendy by coaching her on the financial projections in preparation for her meeting with lenders. Wendy said “Without help from the ISBDC, I would have given up trying to purchase the business; thank you for all of your assistance!”

In just four months since Williams connected with the Southwest ISBDC, Williams took her career to a higher level by successfully purchasing Hope Family Practice from Dr. Michelle Snyder. Williams now runs the practice and offers appointments for patients of all ages.

The Southwest ISBDC is hosted by the Southwest Indiana Chamber and provides one-on-one business advising for entrepreneurs and small business in eight counties throughout Southwest Indiana. For more information about the Southwest ISBDC and its services, contact Karina Hampton at or 812-425-7232.
