Diamond K Sweets (Spencer) is a certified women’s business enterprise manufacturing Fudge O’Bits®, which are gourmet, bite-sized pieces of fudge covered in decadent chocolate or white chocolate. They are family Owned and operated and have been growing exponentially over the past year, including adding more part time staff. They have expanded into many local and regional retailers and recently were awarded a contract with Menards to provide product in 5 states. As of the end of 2016, they had 4 full time and 7 part time employees, a $50,000 micro loan and were working on additional financing with a local bank to add additional manufacturing equipment to fullfill their large order from Menards. Sales continue to increase. The company has been working with the Ivy Tech Gayle & Bill Cook Center for Entrepreneurship and ISBDC’s South Central Region since inception to aid in the development of their business plan, product marketing initiatives and financing strategies.
