The Young Entrepreneurs Virtual Workshop will be beneficial for anyone interested in starting their own business. This interactive workshop will allow entrepreneurs to learn about ways they can improve their business model and operate lean to make the most of every dollar they put into making their dream a reality.


12:30 – 12:55 Young Entrepreneurs Program Overview – Presenter: Jacob Schpok, ISBDC
This brief overview will provide details about the Young Entrepreneurs Program and what is required to participate.
1:00 – 1:40 Lean Start-up Model – Presenter: Kyle Shipley, Shiplington
Starting a business doesn’t have to cost a lot of money. Kyle will share best practices and tools for starting and running your business lean.
1:45 – 2:25 Lead Generation – Presenter: John Maler, LeadGen
Knowing where and how to find new business is always a challenge, especially when you’re just starting. Learn some great ways to generate leads from experts in the B2B marketing industry.
2:30 – 3:10 Legal Entities – Presenter: Barry Wormser, Wormser Legal
Sole Proprietorship? Limited Liability Company? Which should you file your new company as? This workshop will give you the basics for knowing how to file your legal entities to start your business.
3:15 – 3:55 Cash Flow Management – Presenter: Monty Henderson, ISBDC
Managing the money coming and out of your new business can be one of the biggest headaches entrepreneurs face. Learn ways to keep track of your cash flow.
4:00 – 4:40 Obtaining Financing – Presenter: Fifth Third Bank
The biggest challenge that entrepreneurs face when starting a new business is getting a loan. A representative from Fifth Third Bank will discuss what you need to bring with you when making your ask, as well as answer questions about obtaining financing.
4:45 – 5:00 Workshop Wrap-up
We will answer all final questions about what it takes to be an entrepreneur and discuss ‘next steps’ to continue in the Young Entrepreneurs Program.

*Please note – There will be a five minute break between each session to allow for presenter changes. You are permitted to join or leave the workshop during these times.
