Manufacturing Initiative

MANUFACTURING INITIATIVE

The Indiana SBDC Manufacturing Initiative offers Hoosier small businesses and entrepreneurs in the manufacturing sector access to no-cost, confidential specialty business advising and training. Manufacturers from all subsectors are eligible to receive service so long as they qualify as a small business by federal size standards. The Manufacturing Initiative is made available in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) and Emerging Manufacturing Collaboration Center (EMC2).

Georgian Simion

Georgian Simion serves as the Manufacturing Initiative Specialty Advisor. In addition to the bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from Transilvania University in Brasov, Romania, Georgian is a Black Belt Lean/6 Sigma Team leader with 500+ hours of training in process design, operations, engineering and technology leadership, Lean / Six Sigma tools, personality assessments.


In 2025, the Small Business Administration (SBA) announced its new Made in America Manufacturing Initiative, which aims  to restore American economic dominance and national security by empowering small manufacturers. America's SBDC has created a Manufacturing and Onshoring Hub to help navigate manufacturing resources.
