Norma Jeans Bakery

Jerrica Tinsley came to the ISBDC to work through several important growth decisions as demand for her products continued to increase. Discussions focused on cost and pricing analysis to better understand margins and profitability, along with evaluating how pricing decisions could impact future growth. We also explored market positioning and discussed where the business fits within the marketplace and how it can continue to differentiate itself as it grows. As part of that process, we reviewed the advantages and disadvantages of wholesale versus direct-to-consumer sales, including the impact each model could have on revenue, margins, operations, and customer relationships. We also discussed the possibility of future franchising and what systems, processes, and financial performance would need to be in place before pursuing expansion through that model. By taking the time to evaluate these questions before making major growth decisions, Jerrica gained a clearer understanding of the opportunities available and the factors that will help guide the next stage of the business. Norma Jeans Bakery sells out in hours and has clients lined up around the block.
