Andrew Carty

Andrew Carty is the Vice President of Small Business for the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. In this role, he also serves as State Director for the Indiana Small Business Development Center (SBDC). As State Director, Andrew oversees the operation and activities of roughly 90 team members across 10 SBDC offices which provide technical assistance programming and development services to Hoosier entrepreneurs and small businesses statewide. Prior to joining the IEDC, Andrew served as Director of Business Development for the Hancock Economic Development Council. Before that, he directed the Economic Development Division for the Indiana State Department of Agriculture, served as Regional Director for the Central Indiana Small Business Development Center and consulted nationally as a leader within the Economic Development Practice at Thomas P. Miller & Associates. His previous work portfolios have included expansion, attraction, retention and creation activities, strategic planning and overseeing marketing programs like Indiana Grown and international trade, as well as multi-million-dollar state and federal grant programs. Andrew has an MPA specializing in Economic Development from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University.
