Ky’s Kreations

Ky and Jo Scott have a passion for cooking and restaurant management. In 2018, they co-founded Ky’s Kreations to share their love of food with others. They started with a food truck and catering service, added a lunch grab-and-go business, and most recently opened a full-service bistro. Carrie Barrett, Director of New Castle Main Street, connected the Scotts with the East Central Indiana Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in 2018. Working with their advisor, Jo and Ky created a comprehensive business plan to expand their business. In 2022, after the immense success of their food truck and catering operation, they officially opened Ky’s Lunch Box, a physical lunch spot at 1104 Broad Street in New Castle. This lunch spot offers a convenient “grab-and-go” format and has substantial popularity in Henry County. With their aspiration to own a full-service restaurant, Jo and Ky sought East Central SBDC’s assistance again. Under the guidance of Business Advisor Carlas Bogue, they updated their existing business plan and navigated the financial processes associated with the Enterprise Loan Fund (ELF) Program. This program offers loans to small businesses and individuals aiming to establish their enterprises. Empowered by the support of the ELF Program, Ky and Jo could confidently move forward with their dream. After three years of planning, Ky’s Kreations celebrated the grand opening of Ky’s American Bistro in March 2024. Located at 1333 Broad Street in the heart of New Castle, the restaurant offers a delightful dining experience blending casual ambiance and a classy atmosphere. Ky’s American Bistro operates from Wednesday to Sunday, welcoming guests for lunch and dinner with hot and fresh dishes, complemented by an unlimited salad bar. For those seeking a quick and convenient lunch, Ky’s Lunch Box is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Furthermore, Ky’s Food Trailer continues its catering services and food truck operations. Jo Scott, Co-owner of Ky’s Kreations, expressed her gratitude for the tremendous support from the community. “We are overwhelmed with the community support that has been shown. We sit here four weeks in, in awe of our story and how this all would have eventually happened. However, it was able to happen sooner with the help of SBDC.” For inquiries and information, visit Ky’s Kreations at https://www.kyskreations18.com/ or follow them on Facebook.
