Parker’s Seafood Kitchen

Marion, Indiana, is not considered a destination for seafood restaurants. Ambra and Demetris Parker want to change that perception. They launched Parker’s Seafood Kitchen, a family owned and operated restaurant specializing in seafood, po boys, and fried foods. The business began as a commissary in April 2021, and the restaurant opened to the public in May of this year. The couple started the business when Demetris wanted to share some of his Virginia roots with the Marion community. They reached out to the Grant County Economic Growth Council, who connected them with the East Central Indiana Small Business Development Center (SBDC). They met with Steve Jaworowski before starting their restaurant. “Steve helped us form a game plan,” Ambra shared. “He encouraged us to set goals and helped us achieve them. He also provided tools and resources.” Using these tools, the Parkers were able to create a business plan and track expenses. Their restaurant opened to rave reviews, and they continue to enjoy serving their community with tasty food. To learn more about Parker’s Seafood Kitchen, visit their Facebook page.
