Sea Salt & Cinnamon Aims for Storefront Location

The dream started with cupcakes. Amanda Reninger had been leisurely baking for years when she began receiving calls regarding her cupcakes. People she had never met wanted to order her cupcakes for their parties, celebrations, and other events. These phone calls sparked the creation of Sea Salt & Cinnamon.

Amanda started Sea Salt & Cinnamon with her husband, Kyle, in 2014. With the guidance of East Central Indiana Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Regional Director Peggy Cenova, the business has grown to a team of nine and their food is offered all over the state of Indiana.

Shortly after opening Sea Salt & Cinnamon, the Reningers made the decision to transition to a vegan lifestyle. This decision led Kyle to create Sea Salt & Cinnamon’s “savory” menu. Now all food items offered are vegan and many can be made gluten-free upon requested. Their mission is to “invite people into compassion for others, themselves, and the animals we share this planet with.”

“Peggy’s mentoring has been the biggest help for us,” Amanda explained. “She always has an ear to listen, excitement for each step forward we take, encouragement when we need it, and a genuine interest in what we are doing.”

Sea Salt & Cinnamon will be opening its first storefront in the fall of 2021, with the help of their recent successful Kickstarter campaign. They exceeded their goal of raising $30,000, offering incentives for various donor levels. Learn more about their campaign at https://bit.ly/2QQ2fud.
